Sunday Organizing

I am currently being swallowed alive by my craft area.

I decided to paint my desk and my "new" shelf that I picked up on the side of the road.  I always think painting is such a great idea until I actually start, which in this case I immediately regretted the decision.  I HATE painting huge things... rooms, furniture, cabinets, etc. Now that I am completely finished I am left with the hefty task of neatly organizing my addiction.  I am a craftaholic, if there is such a thing.  I like to do any and every different type of craft there is.  I like to scrapbook, paint(small things), sew, make cards, work with clay, bead work, stamping, and all sorts of other things!  So in order to do these things I have to have the product to do so... which I do!  So if I make it out alive I will be posting pictures of my newly painted and organized craft area!

American Girl Store

Never in my life was I introduced to the American Girl Dolls.  I was too busy playing in the dirt and getting dirty!  For Autumn's birthday my wonderful in laws planned a trip to LA to take Autumn to the American Girl store.  (I have to say first that the Farmers Market at The Grove is AMAZING!!)  The American Girl store was very impressive!  My mother in law booked us a tea time there and it was so much fun!  They had so many different finger foods and desserts, it was the most adorable thing!  They sang Happy Birthday and Autumn just loved it!  She got to pick out a new doll, she picked Josephina!  She will be talking about this experience for a long time, it was great!

Happy Birthday Autumn Layce!

Today my little girl is 6 years old!  I can't believe how fast time has gone by.  I remember when she was first born it felt so natural to be her mom.  I loved her since the day I knew she was in there.  She is growing up to be the most amazing child I have ever met.  She has the biggest heart and she sees the good in everybody.  She is perfect to me in every possible way!  Happy Birthday my Autumn Layce!  Mommy loves you so much!

The Things I Do For Free Stuff!

I came across the greatest finds a couple days ago!!  My cousin Corina was over hanging out and we decided to go to the small thrift store down the street from my house.  I have come to love this little shop!  I always come out with something and this day in particular I came across a small old fashioned chalkboard.  It needs a lot of work and love but I have a beautiful vision of it finished and hanging in my living room!

I know it needs some work and luckily I already have the chalkboard paint to redo the board.  I cannot wait to start on this project!  Also when I went to the store employee to ask what the price was going to be he told me that I could have it!  I was so happy!!

So on the way home from the store we were coming up to my street when I noticed some furniture that had been placed outside of someones house on the curb.  I told Corina "Let's go see what they put out!" So we stopped and looked and they had a few cabinets that looked like they had been used in a garage.  They also had a large shelf with cupboards and glass doors.  We decided that the large shelf would be perfect in my craft area to help with organizing all of my lovely things!  We struggled putting this huge thing into Corina's SUV but we managed to get it in with half of it hanging out of the back!  Since we were so close to my house I held on to the back of the shelf so that it would not slip out when she took off.  As she drove I continued to hold it and basically ran with it while she drove to my house.  It was insane and hilarious and I am sure all of the cars that passed by thought we were crazy!  So anyways I got a new shelf! and it was FREE!  So now I need to paint it so that it will match our furniture.  That will be my goal for this weekend!  I will be sure to post pictures with my finished projects when I am finished.

Fixing Things Up!

We have started to get things ready for Autumn's party which is coming up.  I am going all out on decorations and theme for this party!  I can't wait!  I have started getting things ready around the house, my latest project is fixing up an old iron patio table that my parents gave us when we moved.

It has been such an eye sore in our backyard!  So I have purchased the spray paint and I have so far finished all of the chairs.  I am so close to being done and so far it is looking really good!  I am not looking forward to the table though because it is HUGE!!  I will post more pictures when I am finished!

Thrift Store Finds!

So after a long day of Thrifting with my cousin Corina I have come home with some goodies.  I went with the goal of finding some things for Autie's birthday party, which is coming up, and I found a few good things to use!
Lots of glassware for all of the candy decor!  All of these things cost either 50 cents or 1 dollar.  I love them all they are so cute!

Unfortunately I had a casualty :( in my trunk.  I'm sad because this was one of my fave finds! Ohhh well.

Found these at one of my favorite thrift shops!  They have hardback books for 75 cents each or 3 for 2 dollars and paperback books for 20 cents each or 7 for 1 dollar.  I always get some books for the kids when I go here!

Corina took me to this awesome fabric store in Redlands and I got all three of these for 3 dollars a yard and they are so cute!!

I love finding good deals!

Thrifting!

I am spending my last day off before I start work again tomorrow going to some thrift stores with the kids.  I hope to find some great things for the house.  Usually the kids enjoy going thrifting but just in case I have bribed them with a trip to Toys R Us to pick out a new game for their Leap Pads.  No one is gonna ruin this thrift store day!! I will update again with my finds!!
